Reasons for the Seasons

Life is pretty much like the changing seasons. There will always be fall, winter, spring and summer. It's been like that since the beginning of time and would never change. We also have seasons in our lives. There are times when we struggle through difficult times and there are times the world opens up with a wealth of opportunities. There are times when we need to roll up our sleeves and get to work and there are times when all our hard work comes to fruition and we get to reap the benefits of our toil.

No one is exempt from the changing seasons of life. The sun shines on the rich and the poor. The rain falls on the righteous and the unrighteousness. Failures and disappointments are common to us all and they come in a multiplicity of forms - social, economical, spiritual, and physical. They are normal and a part of daily life. It's important that we learn how to handle them so that we don't allow tough seasons to ruin our lives and our futures. They are part of life and milestones on the road to success.

The seasons of life come for many reasons. They come to strengthen us, to make us wise, to give us hope, to build in us humility, to help us grow, to build resilience and perseverance and to make us better. The natural reaction is to complain but all gripping does is create an environment in us that hinders all that we are trying to accomplish. Someone once said, complaining starts as an infection and very quickly becomes a disease. That is so true if we give into the urge to grumble rather than to absorb, reflect and learn.

So, rather than complain about the tough seasons, let's view them as opportunities to develop some well-needed muscles to carry out through the difficult times that will surely come in the future because one thing can be guaranteed: tough times are like changing seasons, there is always one around the corner.
