Stop Waiting on Magic

I remember killing the concept of Christmas for my children thirteen years ago. My oldest was ten and my youngest was three years old. Right or wrong, my methodology for parenting has always been to share the facts as I know them with my kids. I believed at the time that it was important to let them know that everything under the Christmas tree showed up there because of mom and dad. In essence, they learnt very quickly that there is no magic anywhere.

Sadly, there are a lot of grown adults still waiting on magic today. Praying for what they are not willing to work for - a colossal waste of time. God is not a magician neither is he Santa Claus handing out presents to those who are lazy, uncommitted and lackadaisical in their attitude toward hard work. We can go to church till the soles in our shoes wear out. If we won't work, there will be no progress in our lives.

Believing in magic as adults is not a good use of our time. As Colin Powell put it, "A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work." For what you want out of your life to become a reality, you must be willing to put in the time and effort required. Nothing great in life comes easy. There will be highs and there will be disappointments but if you don't quit, there will also be great rewards.

It's time for you to stop waiting on magic and to start doing. Right now is as good a time as any.  If you truly want to see something become a reality in your life, you will need to get to work. Start where you are and work with whatever resources you have available to you and watch things begin to fall into place as you go along. There is great benefit to following the process and going through the process is an absolute must.
